Gilgit Baltistan Environmental Protection Act, 2014.
The Act provides for the protection, conservation, rehabilitation and improvement of the environment, prevention and control of pollution, promotion of sustainable development, and for matters connected therewith. Section 3 pertains to the establishment of Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Council and its members. Section 4 highlights the powers of the Council which include coordinating and supervising the enforcement of the provisions of this Act and other laws relating to the environment in the province. Section 5 establishes the Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Agency to exercise the powers and perform the functions assigned to it under the provisions of this Act and the rules and regulations. Part IV of the Act pertains to Gilgit-Baltistan Sustainable Development Fund. Chapter V elaborates upon prohibitions and enforcement under the Act. The Act also deals with Environmental Protection Order, offences and penalties under the Act, Environmental Courts and Green Courts, and the scope of public participation.

Gilgit Baltistan Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Regulations 2018
These Regulations have been formulated by the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan under the authority derived from Section 36 of the Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Act 2014. Section 3 pertains to requests for approval regarding establishment of stations. Section 4 discusses the grant of approval, while the pursuant section pertains to establishment of data acquisition stations. Section 6 deals with data sharing. The Rules further deal with upgradation, improvement, amendment or change in location.

Gilgit Baltistan Industrial Regulations 2018
These Regulations have been formulated by the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan under the authority derived from Section 37(1) of the Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Act 2014. Section 2 classifies industries into different categories, while Section 3 states that functions and powers specified in these rules may be performed by Assistant Director EPA or officer in charge of GB-EPA not below the rank of Assistant Director as delegated by the Government. Section 4 details the filing, review and approval process of applications. Section 5 elaborates upon the site selection criteria while the pursuant section discusses the design criteria and environmental safeguards for industrial units. The Act further discusses industrial human resource, closing down of industries, and inspection and enforcement mechanisms.

Establishment of Data Acquisition Stations (Automatic Weather Stations, Environmental Monitoring Stations, Water Gauging Stations and Other) Rules 2018
The Rules have been formulated by the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan under powers given by Section 36 of the Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Act 2014. Section 3 sets out the mechanism for request of approval prior to the establishment of the station. Section 4 pertains to the grant of approval upon receipt of an application from any government department, private person, research entity or any other institution or entity on his own accord in presence of sufficient reasons to believe, regarding establishment of station, the Officer in-charge shall investigate and review the application and present it to the director for grant of approval. Section 5 establishes the data acquisition centre. The pursuant sections deal with data sharing, sealing and confiscation, upgradation improvement, amendment and change in location.
